Our Cardboard
Where does the cardboard we use come from?
Cardboard is the most common form of packaging used today. It is a huge waste issue for many industries. This is particularly so for the food manufacturing and retail industries, as most of the stock, raw materials or parts arrive in cardboard boxes.
Due to the strict health and safety laws, only cardboard that has NO food contamination, or cross contamination from oils and chemicals, can be used in the manufacturing of equine and animal bedding.
All the cardboard used in Green Mile Equine and Animal bedding is sourced from packaging manufacturers and therefore has never been in contact with any of the contamination risks mentioned above.
The cardboard we collect on a daily basis is clean and has been kept dry, it has not been bailed and left to rot outside giving the opportunity to grow mouldy. The cardboard is VERY new and dust free, giving us the opportunity to manufacture a premium cardboard animal bedding product.
The cardboard we use would have been sent to landfill sites or disposed of in another non-environmentally friendly manner. By using Green Mile equine and animal bedding you are indirectly helping to conserve the environment and tackle the landfill issues that plague us today.
